ABOUT URBAN WILDERNESS COMMUNITY GARDEN

Urban Wilderness is a council owned piece of land which has been loaned to the local residents for the next 10 years. We are turning it in to a little piece of green space and using it to benefit the whole community.

The idea behind the garden is to bring the community together, promote healthy living, organic food growing, community spirit and encouraging people to live in a more sustainable way. The project really began in the beginning of 2012, and it has come on in leaps and bounds. The garden features a Picnic Area, Food Growing Area, Childrens' Play area, Pond and enclosed dog's area. The Edible and Sensory Area as well as a Peace Garden are near completion with the help of local residents and community organisations.
